Perran Teddy goes to Scotland!

Chapter 1: Fun and Gymnastics at the Harbourside

Perran Teddy was so excited as today was his first outing with Granny and Grandad in Colin in Scotland! He managed to slip into Granny’s rucksack when she wasn’t looking and stowed away on board until she and Grandad stopped to have a coffee break.

It was such fun to be out and about! First Perran Teddy sat on a bollard overlooking the sea, then he decided to do a handstand on the bollard. The world looked very different upside down!

There were some big wooden stakes along the quayside and Perran Teddy thought it would be a good idea to dive off one, but Grandad just caught him in time. Then he found a ladder which was fastened to the side of the quay, this looked a much easier way of climbing down to the mud, but again, Grandad caught him just in time! Finally, he saw a slipway, and when he saw Grandad coming to find him, Perran Teddy hid in a hole in the wall. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Granny and Grandad did manage to rescue Perran Teddy and take him back to Colin where he had a little bit more fun by hiding on Colin – Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 2: Woodland walking wonderland

Granny and Grandad were off on a walk, so Perran Teddy seized his chance and stowed away in Grandad’s rucksack. At the first opportunity he leapt out of the rucksack and hid in a tree trunk which was blocking the pathway. Granny and Grandad had to climb over the tree trunk, and while they weren’t looking Perran Teddy had great fun climbing up on the trunk and hiding in some leaves.

Once Grandad had found Perran Teddy in all the leaves, and he was safely returned to the rucksack, Perran had a nice little sleep while Granny and Grandad continued with their walk. He only woke up when he was disturbed by Granny getting the flask and the hot cross buns out of the bag for their coffee break. He loved hot cross buns and enjoyed the few crumbs which Grandad allowed him, he loved hot cross buns too and was not very keen to share his snack!
Perran Teddy decided to do some exploring and was delighted to find a large tree which had been blown down in the storms, it made a great climbing frame. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Just when Granny called Perran back to carry on with the walk, he discovered a little treasure trove of shells, there were lots of mussel shells and a few cockle shells and Perran liked counting them and admiring their colours. Can you see them Hamish? Can you see them Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 3: Seaside excitement

At last Perran Teddy could smell the sea! He loved the smell of the seaweed and rockpools and when Granny and Grandad parked up in Colin to have their picnic he sneaked out of the van and headed down to play on the beach.
Perran Teddy checked out the beach and saw some rock pools so he ran down to have a look at those first, luckily Grandad chased after him, because Perran Teddy would have dived straight in and got very wet and cold. He inspected the pools, looked under a few stones but couldn’t find any crabs, so he decided to look around for something else to do.

Then Perran Teddy headed for the rocks. What fun to climb up and over the rocks, spying the sea in the distance. He climbed up and up and then decided to do a handstand – big mistake, big, big mistake because ………. oops! …… he toppled over and fell, down and down, bumping his head on the sand below. Granny found him and scooped him up for a cuddle, making him feel much better. He had a bit of a headache but was lucky not to have damaged anything. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

After all that excitement, and feeling a little dazed, Perran Teddy let Granny carry him back to Colin for the drive back to Connie the caravan, enough excitement today for one little tired bear.

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 4: Perran Teddy goes to Jail

Perran Teddy was excited today when Granny and Grandad took him to Inveraray. This was a lovely old town with a big castle right on the edge of a sea loch, Loch Fyne. It had been an important centre and even had a jail. Granny said that Mummy and Uncle Jon had been to that jail when they were younger to have a look around.

When Granny and Grandad weren’t looking, Perran Teddy spied an old water pump where people had thrown coins into a pool for good luck. Perran Teddy thought this was a great idea and went to dive in to collect some of the coins.

When he turned round there were some soldiers! Two big soldiers in red uniforms, with big spikes were standing there and looking very cross. Naughty Perran Teddy was caught red handed! Oh no! ‘Well well, little bear’, one of the soldiers said, ‘you may well have to go to jail if you have been a naughty little bear’.

Oh dear poor Perran Teddy, he really didn’t want to go to jail, he imagined that being behind bars in this horrible old jail would be not very nice at all. He told the soldiers he was very sorry and promised to be a good little bear from now on.

Granny and Grandad said sorry to the soldiers as well and they very kindly let Perran Teddy go. He went and sat by the sea for a while but was soon up to his old tricks and tried to jump onto the beach off a high wall, luckily Grandad caught him in time. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 5: Locks, Boats and Easter Egg!

Bus Walk day! Perran Teddy loves going on the bus, even if he is snuggled inside Grandad’s rucksack, it was still good fun! When he escaped from his hiding place, he was delighted to discover that he was by a canal. It was a really big canal, for big sailing boats to use right by the sea. Perran Teddy wanted to help the lockkeeper open the locks, and with Grandad’s help he climbed up onto a winding machine. Unfortunately this old fashioned winder didn’t work any more, and the lock keeper used an electric machine to open and close the locks. Never mind, Perran Teddy had fun watching him.

Perran Teddy always likes to get up to mischief and today was no exception, Grandad had to watch him because Perran Teddy thought it would be a great idea to dive into the lock from the bridge. Then, when Grandad had rescued him, he saw a ladder going down into the lock and he thought he would go down that, but fortunately Grandad saw him and stopped him! Naughty Perran Teddy – Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Granny and Grandad planned to walk a long way by the canal back to the caravan park so Perran Teddy curled up in the rucksack again. After a while, Granny and Grandad stopped for a break so Perran Teddy came out to see where they were. He saw some more lovely sailing boats and wanted to go and play on them, Granny got out a huge Easter Egg – Perran Teddy loves Easter time, because Perran Teddy loves Easter Eggs, so funnily enough he forgot all about the sailing boats and dived in to eat the Easter Egg! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 6: Ferry across the sea to Mull

Granny and Grandad had planned a trip on a ferry today so Perran Teddy was very excited to be out and about on the water, and even more special – the sea!

Perran Teddy was asleep in Granny’s rucksack when they set sail, so he missed the exciting bit at the start, but to make up for it, Granny and Grandad took him up on deck to look at the scenery. Well, Perran Teddy thought scenery was boring, so he did what he always liked to do – he played! First of all, he played on the life belt, can you see it has the name of the ship on it, The Isle of Mull. Silly Perran Teddy is upside down again. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Then Granny turned her back and Perran Teddy found a very interesting looking grey bit of machinery, he had no idea what it did, but it looked great fun to play on. Granny was very cross because she said it was to do with the lifeboats and very important as it could save peoples lives if the ship sank and it was very dangerous to play on it.

Finally, as the ship drew closer to the landing point on the Isle of Mull, Perran Teddy was sat on a black seat which turned out to be a capstan, this is where the ropes are tied to to hold the ship steady when it docks.. While he was there he spied a sign which said ‘do not climb on ship structures’, and guess what Perran Teddy did ….. You’re right! Naughty Perran Teddy went and climbed on top of the sign and good old Grandad rescued him … again! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 7: Perran Teddy goes Castle hunting

As Perran Teddy approached the Isle of Mull with Granny and Grandad on the ferry he got very excited. Because he had missed boarding the ferry Granny let him sit up on the dashboard as they left the ferry so he could see what was going on. This was so exciting Perran Teddy did a backflip! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

From the ferry they had spied a rather impressive looking Castle called Duart Castle, so the first visit of the day was to that. Oh what fun Perran Teddy had! First of all he spied some canons looking out to sea, well of course, he had to have a play on those. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan? What a naughty little rascal he is!

As they walked around the castle, Perran Teddy could see that it had been recently updated and included a house for the current family to live in. He saw some cliffs leading up to the castle and thought it would be a good idea to climb up to it. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

By this time Perran Teddy was feeling very tired, all that travelling and all that climbing and playing, so he climbed up on Grandad’s shoulder for a ride back to Colin and Granny’s rucksack where he had a nice long sleep to recover from all that excitement.

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 8: Chairlifts and snowdrifts

It was a beautiful Spring morning, the sun was shining and the birds were singing when Perran Teddy woke up in Granny’s rucksack. He was looking forward to a day out in the car today, hoping that Granny and Grandad would take him on another adventure.

After what seemed ages in the car, Perran Teddy felt Colin the Camper stop and Granny put the rucksack on her back. When Perran Teddy peeped outside he was amazed to see he was flying! How could that be? Well, all of them were on a chairlift! It really felt like flying and Perran Teddy was very pleased that he was safely tucked in the rucksack, between Granny and Grandad.

The chairlift took people up a mountain, straight up, where cars could not go. The views were amazing and Perran Teddy could see mountains and moorland for miles and miles around. He watched some of the chairs go round at the top, Granny and Grandad had to be very quick to get off at the top otherwise they would have gone straight back down again!

When they were at the top of the mountain, they all went for a little walk. It was very cold because they were so high up and guess what they found? SNOW! Who would have believed they would have found snow at this time of year when it was so much warmer. Grandad explained to Perran Teddy that it was because it was so cold up at the top of very high mountains the snow didn’t melt. Perran Teddy was very excited as he had played in snow before when Granny and Grandad took him to Norway. Poor Perran Teddy tried to dive into the snow, but he fell over before he could reach it, poor Perran Teddy. Can you see him Hamish Can you see him Ethan?

After all that excitement and upset at falling over, Perran Teddy climbed back into the rucksack for the journey back down the mountain on the chairlift. He was pleased to be back down where it was much warmer, and he went to play, hiding from Granny and Grandad in a huge metal man. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 9: Where’s Aunty Maddy?

Perran Teddy was woken by chatter outside the rucksack. Granny and Grandad were talking about going to look for Aunty Maddy, that was weird but so exciting Perran Teddy would love to see Aunty Maddy.

They went on another ferry, this time over to the Outer Hebrides, a string of islands off the coast of north west Scotland. Perran Teddy enjoyed the ferry but it was quite cold so he stayed inside Granny’s rucksack and only peered out at the sea from there.

When the boat stopped, and Granny and Grandad were queuing to get off, Perran saw a map which had Aunty Maddy’s name on it – yippee he thought, we must be going to see her very soon. He sat up on the dashboard as they got off the ferry but he couldn’t see her. Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

Once on the island, Perran Teddy saw a sign for Aunty Maddy and jumped up on top of it, he was so excited that he fell off! Fortunately there was very soft grass underneath so he didn’t hurt himself.

Further on down the road he saw more signs. But he couldn’t find Aunty Maddy at the Village Shop. He couldn’t find her at the hotel and he couldn’t find her in the car park. Can you see her Hamish? Can you see her Ethan?

By now poor Perran Teddy was getting very upset because he couldn’t find Aunty Maddy. Granny asked him why he was sad and he told her that he wanted to see Aunty Maddy. Granny smiled and said that they weren’t going to look for Aunty Maddy, they were going to Loch Maddy, which was the name of a place on the island.

To cheer Perran Teddy up, when they got home to the caravan, Granny lifted Perran Teddy up to get a better look at the family photograph. There was Aunty Maddy smiling back at Perran Teddy with the rest of the family. Can you see them Hamish? Can you see them Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

Chapter 10: Can Perran Teddy find Nessie? Part 1

When they set off on their tour of Scotland, Hamish had asked Granny and Grandad to look for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, and Perran Teddy was eager to do just that. He had waited patiently for Granny and Grandad to take him to Loch Ness and finally the day had arrived. They all walked down to the edge of the Loch and Perran Teddy had a good look with his binoculars. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Perran Teddy couldn’t see anything sticking out of the water so while Granny and Grandad continued to search the loch, Perran Teddy went off to play. First of all he played on a rock on the beach by the side of the loch, and then promptly fell off! Then he picked himself up and ran off to hide in the trees and bushes nearby. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Granny and Grandad couldn’t see Nessie in the loch, so they decided to book a trip on a boat to see if they would get a better view. Perran Teddy was very excited when he saw the boat they were going to go on, but Granny said that treat would have to wait for another day. Can you see the boat Hamish? Can you see the boat Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan for part 2 of Perran Teddy’s search for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster!

Chapter 11: Can Perran Teddy find Nessie? Part 2

Today was the day for the promised boat trip on Loch Ness to look for Nessie, the Loch Ness monster, and Perran Teddy was jumping up and down with excitement. Grandad parked Colin next to the canal where the boat was moored, and the big red picture of Nessie on the side of the boat looked very impressive.

There was a long queue to get on the boat and Perran Teddy was bored waiting to get on, stuck inside Granny’s rucksack. Eventually everyone was sat in their seats and Perran Teddy was allowed to climb up onto Granny’s shoulder to watch the boat leave the quay. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Once the boat was speeding across the loch, Granny and Grandad went to the back of the boat and Perran Teddy climbed up onto the rail. The water was churning out of the propellers at the back of the boat as it was going quite fast. Perran Teddy thought this was great fun and played on the rails. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

As well as playing on the rails, Perran Teddy found a small gap at floor level and stuck his head out but Grandad caught him just in time before he fell in the water! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

When the boat was in the middle of the loch, Perran Teddy decided to do some serious searching. Do you think he found Nessie, the Loch Ness monster? Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan

Chapter 12: Naughty Perran Teddy runs away

Perran Teddy was having a snooze in Granny’s rucksack after a very tiring days travelling. He was woken up by Hamish talking to Granny. Hamish asked Granny if Perran Teddy’s next adventure could involve falling down a cliff! Wow, thinks Perran Teddy, what a great idea! He decided to plan his escape the very next day to go and try and find a cliff.
The next morning, when Granny was doing the washing up and Grandad was filling up the water containers, Perran Teddy crept out of Granny’s rucksack and jumped out of the caravan window.

There was a fence next to the caravan and on the other side of the fence was the seaside! Quick as a flash Perran Teddy jumped onto the fence and down the other side. Granny didn’t see him because she was busy at the sink.

Perran Teddy ran along the beach. He couldn’t see any cliffs one way, just a long beach.

He ran the other way, but there were still no cliffs – but there was a pier. It was the sort of pier that men stand on to try and catch fish with their fishing rods. Well, thought Perran Teddy, if I can’t fall off a cliff, perhaps I can fall off a pier! Perran Teddy climbed up onto the pier and ran to the end. The sea looked deep here. Look closely boys, Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

He backed off and looked over the edge again, the sea still looked a bit deep here too. Look closely boys, Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

He backed up a bit further and saw pebbles below, this looked a safer option. So he climbed on top of a big pole.

Perran Teddy wobbled a bit on top of the pole …. then …. JERONIMO! he shouted …. and he fell ……. landing, safe in Grandad’s hands.

Unbeknown to Perran Teddy, Grandad had followed him from the caravan to the pier, just in case he got into trouble. Perran Teddy was quite pleased really, he thinks it might have hurt rather a lot if he had fallen on to those pebbles. Grandad carried him home to the caravan for a treat before bed time. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan

Chapter 13: Can anyone see a lighthouse?

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and there was no wind today. Perran Teddy hadn’t liked the wind and it was very very windy in northern Scotland. Yesterday Granny and Grandad had towed the caravan to a different part of Scotland and when Perran Teddy woke up it was lovely weather so he decided to go out with Granny and Grandad for the day.

The first stop was by a huge red and white tower! Ethan, do you know what it is called? Hamish, do you know what it is called?

Granny said it was called a lighthouse. Lighthouses were built to warn sailors of where the rocks were by shining a bright light across the sea. Perran Teddy thought it looked very exciting.

They found an information board which said that the lighthouse was 41 metres high and was built nearly 200 years ago, my goodness that was a long time ago. As usual Perran Teddy got up to mischief instead of reading the board! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan.

When Granny and Grandad weren’t looking Perran Teddy climbed up on a wall by the lighthouse. He thought he would be really clever and dance along the wall, but oops! He slipped and fell, right down on to the soft grass. He was a very lucky Teddy bear that he didn’t hurt himself. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Time to go home said Granny. See you next time Hamish and Ethan

Chapter 14: Jubilee celebrations

What was a jubilee? Perran Teddy had heard Granny and Grandad talking about the jubilee celebrations but didn’t really know what they were talking about. Granny explained that the Queen had been a Queen for 70 years. Imagine – 70 years was a very long time, more years than Granny had been alive, and nearly as many as Grandad was old! Perran Teddy understood now that it was a very good thing to mark the jubilee for the Queen.

When they walked around the town, he saw a big poster with the Queen’s picture on it. Then he saw some flags and balloons in a jewellers window. Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

A little further on, he saw some more balloons, great big red, white and blue ones to match the flags. Perran Teddy thought it was a good thing that so many people were celebrating the Queen’s jubilee. But why didn’t he have a flag? Perran Teddy was sad, he wanted a red, white and blue flag too.

Granny asked Perran Teddy why he was sad, and when Perran Teddy told Granny, she smiled and said, wait till we get home. Well, when Perran Teddy got back to the caravan, what did he find? and where did he find it? He was a very happy little bear. Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

Happy Jubilee celebrations Hamish and Ethan. See you next time.

Chapter 15: Time to go to the beach – part 1

Perran Teddy was absolutely desperate to go to the beach again, it seemed ages since he had last had a play on the sand. Granny and Grandad set off in Colin and Perran Teddy could smell the sea, at least the smell of the seaweed when they opened the door of the van. He jumped out and onto a post just by Colin. Well, it was the sea, but where was the sand? Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

Granny explained that this beach only had pebbles. They were rather lovely pebbles, all different sizes and colours but Perran Teddy was disappointed, he had been looking forward to playing and running on the sand.

Granny found Hamish and Ethan’s magnifying glass, which they had very kindly leant to Perran Teddy, so Perran Teddy decided to do some magnifying. He found three different kinds of seaweed, one was bright green, one had little balls of air in it and looked like leaves, and one looked like long pieces of string. Can you see the seaweed Hamish? Can you see the seaweed Ethan?

Granny said it was time to go, so what did Perran Teddy do? He ran off and hid behind some big pebbles which had been piled up on each other, then he thought it would be a good idea to climb on them. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Granny said if Perran Teddy came down, they would take him to a sandy beach next time, so Perran Teddy ran back to Colin.

See you next time Hamish and Ethan.

Chapter 16: Time to go to the beach – part 2

Perran Teddy yawned and stretched his arms out of Granny’s rucksack, it really was very comfortable in there. Granny called over to him, we’re here Perran Teddy, we’re at the sandy beach. Perran Teddy peered through the window, and then jumped out of Colin and ran towards the lovely sandy beach. It was enormous! He ran down but was cross that he had to run over all that horrible seaweed to get to the nice clean sand. Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

After he had run across the seaweed Perran Teddy sat down with a bump on the sand and just looked. It was lovely! He looked one way and he could see nothing but waves and he looked the other way and he could see a lighthouse and then he spied a rockpool, perhaps there was a crab in it, he went to have a closer look, but you guessed it, Grandad stopped him just in time from falling in! Then he saw a dead crab on the sand, what a pity he had forgotten his magnifying glass, he would have liked a closer look. Can you see Hamish? Can you see Ethan?

The sea looked so inviting that Perran Teddy thought it would be a good idea to have a swim, he tried to dive in three times, but …… you guessed it ….. Grandad rescued him again from getting very wet and cold. Good old Grandad! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan.

Chapter 17:  Look at all those buoys

Granny and Grandad told Perran Teddy that they were going on a long walk and he would have to stay in Colin and be a good little teddy bear.  Do you think Perran Teddy did as he was told?  Well, as you know, Perran Teddy loves sleeping in Granny’s rucksack, so after Granny had packed her bag, when she wasn’t looking, Perran Teddy snook in!  There wasn’t much room left in the bag as Granny had put lots of things in it, but he managed to find a little corner.

Perran Teddy popped his head out of the rucksack and couldn’t believe his eyes – there was a great big Christmas Tree!  And there nearby was a great big muffin? Can you see Hamish?  Can you see Ethan?

Of course, it wasn’t a Christmas Tree or a Muffin, these were buoys.  This word is spelt differently to boys, as in Hamish and Ethan boys! This sort of buoy is a giant mooring buoy that ships use to anchor to or are used to mark a channel in the sea.  Of course, all Perran Teddy wanted to do was climb all over them, and ….. you guessed it ….. he fell off!  Can you see him Hamish?  Can you see him Ethan?

That’s enough fun for one day said Granny, I’m going to put you where I can see you, you naughty little teddy bear!  Can you see him Hamish?  Can you see him Ethan?

See you next time Hamish and Ethan.

Chapter 18: Fun at the park

Perran Teddy had been a very good little teddy bear for Granny and Grandad so they decided to reward him with a trip to the park. He loved swings and slides so you can imagine how excited he was when he saw this park. Perran Teddy chose to go on the tyre swing first. He thought this was great fun, then Grandad pushed him and he fell off! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Perran Teddy picked himself up and ran over to the slide, he loves slides, and ….. you guessed it, he fell off the end! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Then what should he choose. Perran Teddy saw a huge scary snake thing hanging on a roundabout, he had never seen anything like that before and didn’t know what to do. Grandad helped him up on to the snake which turned out to be a big rope (not so scary after all) and he pushed him around on it, but, surprise surprise, Perran Teddy fell off! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Perran Teddy had loved the park, but he was a bit sore after all that falling off, so he climbed back into Granny’s rucksack and had another nap.

See you next time Hamish and Ethan.

Chapter 19: Is it a castle?

Perran Teddy overheard Granny saying to Grandad that it was their last day in Scotland today. Oh no, thought Perran Teddy, is this lovely holiday over? He decided that he had better crawl into Granny’s rucksack again today and go exploring with them for the last time in Scotland.

When Colin stopped in a car park, Perran Teddy peered out of the window and spied a castle! Oh good he thought, that will be fun to explore. He thought it was a castle …. but was it?

Perran Teddy had a good look, and then he had a good look at a poster. It looked as though this building was a new Church and there used to be a much much bigger Church here, called a Priory, before it fell down.

Well, Perran Teddy thought about it and decided it was still worth exploring, so off he ran to see what he could find.

The first thing he found was the old doorway to the original Church, can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Then he found some strange looking stones, they reminded him of Pirates. Perran Teddy thought these would make a great hiding place from Granny and Grandad, and great fun to play on at the same time. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Perran Teddy then spied some rocks, which looked like they might have been the old walls of the old Church. They looked as if they would make a great climbing wall! Guess what Perran Teddy did ….. you’re right! He climbed all the way to the top! Look at me he shouted to Granny and Grandad and then what do you think happened? You guessed it….. he fell off! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Picking himself up, Perran Teddy ran off and found a lovely little flower, he was smelling it when he heard Granny calling his name, so he hid in a big clump of flowers. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

When he thought Granny was getting a little too close, he ran and hid again, this time in a big tree. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

By this time, Perran Teddy was starting to feel a little tired, all this playing and all this hiding was making him want to have another nap. He jumped up onto Grandad’s shoulder and hitched a lift back to Colin where he crawled back into Granny’s rucksack for the ride home in Colin. Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

Perran Teddy had enjoyed his holiday in Scotland, but he was really missing Hamish and Ethan. He was very glad that he was going to see them again soon. Are you missing Perran Teddy too Hamish and Ethan?

See you soon!

Chapter 20: Home at last with Hamish and Ethan!

Perran Teddy had enjoyed his holiday with Granny and Grandad in the caravan but he had missed playing with his lovely friends Hamish and Ethan. Today was the day that Granny and Grandad were going to see them. Perran Teddy had watched Granny putting all the presents into a big bag, so when she wasn’t looking, Perran Teddy jumped inside and hid!
Granny didn’t know he was in there, but who do you think found him? Do you know Hamish? Do you know Ethan?

Hamish ran upstairs to find Big Perran so that he could play with little Perran Teddy. Can you see them Ethan?

The teddy bears were delighted to see each other again and Ethan had trouble holding onto Perran Teddy as he was so excited, he nearly jumped out of Ethan’s hands! Can you see him Hamish?

While he was in the present bag, Perran Teddy had a good look at the presents. His favourites were the Hairy coos and the Puffins! The Hairy coos had sticky out horns and long hair which got into their eyes, and the Puffins had brightly coloured beaks and lovely soft fur. Perran Teddy was really pleased that Hamish and Ethan liked their toys from Scotland and hoped that they would let him play with them when he came to see them again. Will you let him Hamish? Will you let him Ethan?

Perran Teddy had been quite a good little teddy so far this afternoon, but of course, he couldn’t be good all the time! He ran around the living room when Hamish and Ethan weren’t looking and of course, he fell off the chair and he rolled all over the carpet when he was playing with the Hairy coo! Can you see him Hamish? Can you see him Ethan?

What a lovely time they had all had this afternoon. Perran Teddy was pleased to be home with Hamish and Ethan again and I think Hamish and Ethan were very pleased to see him again.

When Granny and Grandad have another holiday, Perran Teddy has promised to have lots more adventures for Granny to write about.

See you next time Hamish and Ethan!

The End
